Lastest Info on Aztecs Cross Country

We will start selling our orange cross country camp chairs this evening at the football game (8/29/14).  They are $35 each or buy two for $60.  These are great for our cross country meets, both for the athletes and spectators. You need to provide your own chair at the meets and a team chair is a great way to show your support!  Checks should be payable to Corona Cross Country Boosters Club.

We are very short of our donation goal which means we will not be able to do everything for the team that we want to do.  We don’t want the athletes to miss out on anything so let’s ask relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. to help support our team by making a tax-credit donation (dollar for dollar credit on their AZ income tax return) or tax-deductible donation.  We are still offering a free camp chair with each $200 donation (tax credit or tax-deductible donation).  You can make your donation tonight at the football game and get your chair right away.  If you can’t make it tonight, you can still turn in your order form to one of the coaches and we will coordinate getting you a chair.

Tomorrow’s practice will be at 6pm instead of 6:30.  It is getting dark too soon so we need to move up the meeting time.  6pm will now be our normal meeting time for Tuesday and Thursday practice.

Please link your Fry’s VIP Card to our Cross Country account. – it’s an easy way to help our Corona Cross Country team raise money. Please ask family, friends, and/or co-workers to link their card too. It doesn’t cost them anything and we get credit for all the purchases. It’s super easy and it’s a great way to get some money for our team.

PLEASE NOTE: Before you can link your Fry’s V.I.P card to an organization, you must have an email address.

STEP 1: Creating an Online Fry’s Account
**NOTE: If you already have an online Fry’s account, skip to #2
*Go to
*Select ‘Register’.
*Under Sign-In information, enter your email and create a password. (Write down your email & password—will need it in step 2)
*Select ‘Use Card Number’.
*Enter your Fry’s V.I.P Card Number, last name and postal code.
*Under ‘Select Your Preferred Store’ enter your postal code.
*Select ‘Find Stores’.
*Choose your store then select ‘Create Account’.
*You will then be prompted to check your email for a confirmation email.
Click the hyperlink in your email to finish creating your Online Fry’s Account.
*Continue to step #2 to register for the Fry’s Community Rewards Program of your choice.

STEP 2: Register for the Fry’s Community Rewards Program
*Go to
*Select ‘Sign-In’.
*Enter your email and password then select ‘sign in’. (This will be the email and password you created in step 1)
*Select ‘My Account then select ‘Account Settings’ from drop down menu.
*Click ‘edit’ under Community Rewards. If prompted, enter personal information.
*Under Find Your Organization: Enter the NPO number or name of organization then select ‘search’. (41905 or Corona Cross Country Boosters Club)

Please submit your manilla envelopes with completed serial log forms with cash or checks to Melissa Hart or one of the coaches.

Otherwise, all envelopes due Thursday, August 28th!

Thank you to all parents who attended last night’s Cross Country parent meeting.  A special thank you to the Booster Club parents that organized the meeting as well the following local businesses that made donations to help support our team:  Firehouse Subs provided the delicious subs & chips for the athletes;  Fresh n Easy provided the bottled water and fruit; and Einstein’s provided the bagels.   Please recognize or support those businesses that help our team.   We look forward to another great season!

Parent Meeting Tomorrow From 6pm to 7pm

Practice is changed to 3pm instead of 6:30pm tomorrow because of our parent meeting.  Food will be provided for athletes.  We’re meeting in the cafeteria.

Practice Is Cancelled Tonight

We are canceling practice tonight due to the storm.  If it eases up you may go for a run or do a workout.  If not, DO NOT run!  The workout for today is a fartlek.  10 min warmup, 3 – 5 x (3min on 2min off), 10min cool down.  The pace is the same as what you did last week at Hanger park.  If you didn’t do a workout, run a comfortably hard pace.  A pace you could maintain for 20 minutes.
