Hot Chocolate Run
The Hot Chocolate Run is giving us the opportunity to organize a group of volunteers for their Scottsdale Hot Chocolate Race. In exchange for volunteering, they will donate $10 per volunteer to our Corona Cross Country Boosters. The race is Sunday, December 4, 2016.
In addition to the donation to our schools, each volunteer will receive a very nice sweatshirt. These are great sweatshirts – you’ll definitely want one! We believe this year’s sweatshirt will be a full zippered one. They tend to run small so if you don’t want it snug, please order one size larger than you normally wear.
Our group has volunteered for this race the last three years and we have had a great experience. It was fun cheering for the runners, we each got a great sweatshirt, and we helped our team raise money. We are scheduled to be in the same location we have been for the last 3 years. We will have a water/Gatorade station. Our duties include filling cups with water and Gatorade and handing them out to the runners/walkers. The streets will be closed for the race so we need to arrive by 5:45 am. Otherwise you will find yourself having to walk or jog quite a distance to get to your designated spot. We are also responsible for cleaning up. Once we have all the cups thrown away and tables broken down, we can leave. Last year we were done by 9:30 am.
It will be dark when we start volunteering. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp – that will be really helpful. Also dress in layers.
This volunteer group is open to anyone age 14 and older. Parents, siblings, grandparents and friends are all welcome. The more people we have, the better. We need 50 volunteers.
This year registration must be done through RAM Racing’s online system. Please follow this link:
Volunteers must be signed up by November 21st. Thank you again for supporting the Corona Cross Country Team!
